Hey everyone! I want to share my love for country music with you all. I probably won't use rhyme or reason when posting. That's no fun, right? Right! So, I'll give interesting facts about artists, share my favorite songs, and other fun stuff!

Day 13: A Song That is a Guilty Pleasure

Uhm. I don't have one. So, here's one of my favorite songs of late. I don't really know why I like it so much. This song just seems so perfect for her voice and the music and the lyrics go so well together, and it's just awesome.

Lady A

Seems I've been walking in the wrong direction

I barely recognize my own reflection, no

Scared of love but scared of life alone

Seems I've been playing on the safe side baby

Building walls around my heart to save me, oh

But it's time for me to let it go

Yeah, I'm ready to feel now

No longer am I afraid of the fall down

It must be time to move on now

Without the fear of how it might end

I guess I'm ready to love again

Just when you think that love will never find you

You run away but still it's right behind you, oh

It's just something that you can't control

Yeah, I'm ready to feel now

No longer am I afraid of the fall down

It must be time to move on now

Without the fear of how it might end

I guess I'm ready to love again

So come and find me

I'll be waiting up for you

I'll be holding out for you tonight

Yeah, I'm ready to feel now

No longer am I afraid of the fall down

It must be time to move on now

Without the fear of how it might end

I guess I'm ready, I'm ready to love again

Day 12: A Song From a Band I Hate

I really really hate the band "Sugarland". And by hate. I mean hate. They're horrible. The lead singer can't sing. At all. Period. I really don't care if you guys actually listen to this song or not, because I will not willingly put myself through the torture of listening to them, so I won't ask you to either. But, torture yourself if you like. I didn't post their music video, because it's immodest. So, this one has the lyrics in it.

Day 11: A Song from your Favorite Band

My favorite band is up in the air at the moment. I love sooo many bands. But, one of my all time favorite artists is Carrie Underwood, so here's a song of hers that I've been listening to ALL week.

Sitting up on the roof

Sneaking a smoke by the chimney

Checking out the moon

And the city lights

He takes off his flannel shirt

And he drapes it around her shoulders

Slides up behind her and holds on tight

And she says"I don't want this night to end

Why does it have to end?"

[Chorus:]

Tomorrow she'll be rolling down I-10

Baton Rouge, LSU

18 years in her rearview

He's got a Friday paycheck lined up down the block

At daddy's shop

It ain't much but its a job

They've been dreading this moment all summer long

The night beforeLife goes on

OoohA tear falls off her cheek and

Right when it hits his arm he says

"Come on babyLet's get outta here"

They take one last drive around town

And man it already looks different

He bangs the wheel and says

"Life ain't fair!

And this growing up stuff man I don't know

I just don't wanna let you go"

[Chorus:]

Tomorrow she'll be rolling down I10

Baton RougeLSU

18 years in her rearview

Hes got a Friday paycheck lined up down the block

At daddy's shop

It ain't much but its a job

They've been dreading this moment all summer long

The night beforeLife goes on

Yeah that's what my momma told me

And just like those kidsI didn't wanna listen to no one

Yea theres nothing you can do

Theres nothing you can say

And I know how it feels when love goes away

[Chorus:]

Tomorrow shell be rolling down I10

Baton RougeLSU

18 years in her rear-view

Hes got a Friday paycheck lined up down the block

At daddies shop

It ain't much but its a job

They've been dreading this moment all summer long

But here it is

They don't have long

The night beforeLife goes on

Yeah e yeah e yeah e yeah e yeah

Day 10: A Song you can Fall Asleep to

Answer: none! absolutely cannot fall asleep to music. I sing along. Which is stimulating, not sleep-inducing. So, you tell me. What songs put you guys to sleep?

Day 9: A Song That You Can Dance To

Well, I'm not given to dancing..... But I do dance along when it's just me and Maddy in the car sometimes. Haha. I've done silly little dances to quite a few songs... So here's just one.
I really like this song. It's really not very nice, and I don't reccomend doing any of these things that she does in the song, but I think it's funny, and fun to sing along with. And dance to. Haha.
Go listen to it here.

"Before He Cheats"

Right now he's probably slow dancing
With a bleached-blond tramp
And she's probably getting frisky
Right now, he's probably buying
Her some fruity little drink
'Cause she can't shoot whiskey

Right now, he's probably up behind her
With a pool stick
Showing her how to shoot a combo
And he don't know

I dug my key into the side
Of his pretty little souped-up 4 wheel drive
Carved my name into his leather seat
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights
Slashed a hole in all 4 tires
And maybe next time he'll think before he cheats

Right now, she's probably up singing some
White-trash version of Shania karaoke
Right now, she's probably saying, "I'm drunk"
And he's a thinking that he's gonna get lucky

Right now, he's probably dabbing on 3 dollars
Worth of that bathroom Polo
[ From : http://www.elyrics.net/read/c/carrie-underwood-lyrics/before-he-cheats-lyrics.html ]
Oh and he don't know

That I dug my key into the side
Of his pretty little souped-up 4 wheel drive
Carved my name into his leather seat
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights
Slashed a hole in all 4 tires
And maybe next time he'll think before he cheats

I might've saved a little trouble for the next girl
'Cause the next time that he cheats
Oh, you know it won't be on me!
No, not on me

'Cause I dug my key into the side
Of his pretty little souped-up 4 wheel drive
Carved my name into his leather seat
I took a Louisville slugger to both head lights
Slashed a hole in all 4 tires
Maybe next time he'll think before he cheats
Oh, maybe next time he'll think before he cheats
Oh, before he cheats
Oh

Day 8: A Song You Know All The Words To

Oh, there are OH SO MANY of these! Haha. But. I'm into Lady Antebellum these days, so I'll do that one. :) "Just a Kiss" I love this song! Go listen here.

Lyin' here with you so close to me
It's hard to fight these feelings when it feels so hard to breathe
Caught up in this moment
Caught up in your smile

I've never opened up to anyone
So hard to hold back when I'm holding you in my arms
We don't need to rush this
Let's just take this slow

Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight
Just a touch in the fire burning so bright
And I don't want to mess this thing up
I don't want to push too far
Just a shot in the dark that you just might
Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life
So baby I'm alright, with just a kiss goodnight

I know that if we give this a little time
It will only bring us closer to the love we wanna find
It's never felt so real, no it's never felt so right

Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight
Just a touch in the fire burning so bright
And I don't want to mess this thing up
I don't want to push too far
Just a shot in the dark that you just might
Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life
So baby I'm alright, with just a kiss goodnight

http://www.elyricsworld.com/just_a_kiss_lyrics_lady_antebellum.html
No I don't want to say goodnight
I know it's time to leave, but you'll be in my dreams
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight

Just a kiss on your lips in the moonlight
Just a touch in the fire burning so bright
And I don't want to mess this thing up
I don't want to push too far
Just a shot in the dark that you just might
Be the one I've been waiting for my whole life
So baby I'm alright, oh, let's do this right, with just a kiss goodnight
With a kiss goodnight
Kiss goodnight

Day 7: A Song That Reminds You of a Certain Event

"Walk Me Down the Middle" by The Band Perry. This song reminds me of my state fair experience... :) Hahaha. Go listen to the song here, it's really good! :)

I was meant to be by your side
And I have waited here a long time
For you to turn around and notice me
But now you're here holding hands with me

Walk me down the middle of the county fair
Walk me down the middle like you don't care
Walk me by the Ferris wheel
And make sure she sees
Let the whole world know you belong to me

I heard about your bitter end
About how she stole your heart and put it back again
Well I may not be the prettiest girl around
But I sure am a sight for sore, sore eyes

Walk me down the middle of Main Street
Walk me down where the whole town will be
I don't need no parade
But make sure that she sees
Let the whole word know you belong to me

I'd walk through fire for you
Walk through barbed wire for you
I'd walk for miles, it's true
Just to be with you

If you walk me down the middle of my momma's church
Walk me down that aisle in your finest shirt
Let the whole world know you will
Walk me down the middle of the county fair
Walk me down the middle like you don't care
Walk me by the Ferris wheel
And make sure they all see
Let the whole world know you belong to me
You belong to me

Day 6: A Song That Reminds You of Somewhere

I have not forgotten about my blogs! I Have been super busy with work, graduating, and babies, so, my posts will probably become fewer. But, I will still post! :)
Anyways. Off to the 30 Day Song Challenge.
The song is "Old Alabama" by Brad Paisley. Wanna guess where this song reminds me of? haha. Go listen to it here.

She’d rather wear a pair of cut-off jeans than a fancy evening dress,
And with her windows rolled down and her hair all blown all around, she’s a hot southern mess...
She’ll take a beer over white wine and a campfire over candle light,
And when it comes to love, oh her idea of a romantic night...

Is listenin’ to old Alabama, drivin' through Tennessee...
A little Dixieland Delight at the Right Time of the Night,
And she can’t keep her hands off of me-ee-eee!

Now we’re rollin’ down an old back road,
I got the steering wheel in one hand...
We’ll find a hideaway where she and I can play,
In Mother Nature’s band...

Now we’re listenin’ to old Alabama, parked somewhere in Tennessee...
A little Dixieland Delight and It Feels So Right,
And It’s Love In The First Degree-ee-eee!

Forget about Sinatra or Coltrane, or some ol’ Righteous Brothers song,
Hey even Barry White ain’t gonna work tonight, if you really wanna turn her on;

Play some back home come on music that comes from the heart,
Play something with lots of feeling, ‘cause that’s where music has to start…

Now we’re listenin' to Old Alabama, and we’re drivin' through Tennessee,
A little Dixieland Delight and It Feels So Right and its Love in the First Degree...

Yeah’ you know we’re listenin' to Old Alabama,(old Alabama) drivin' through Tennessee, (Tennessee)
A little Why Lady Why at The Right Time of The Night
Oh and she can’t keep her hands off of me-ee-eee

Oh, play me some old Alabama,
Oh, play me some old Alabama...
Won’t you play me some old Alabama,
Play me some old Alabama...
Won’t you pla-ee-ay-ay
yeee-haw!!!

Day 5: A Song That Reminds Me of Someone

Wow. There are so many of these.... Wow. Let's see. I think I'll do the Zac Brown Band "Colder Weather"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oouFE51HcqM
She'd trade Colorado if he'd take her with him
Closes the door before the winter lets the cold in,
And wonders if her love is strong enough to make him
stay,
She's answered by the tail lights
Shining through the window pane

[Chorus:]
He said I wanna see you again
But I'm stuck in colder weather
Maybe tomorrow will be better
Can I call you then
She said you're a ramblin' man
And you ain't ever gonna change
You gotta gypsy soul to blame
And you were born for leavin'

At a truck stop diner just outside of Lincoln,
The night is black as the coffee he was drinkin',
And in the waitress' eyes he sees the same 'ol light a
shinin',
He thinks of Colorado
And the girl he left behind him

[Chorus:]
He said I wanna see you again
But I'm stuck in colder weather
Maybe tomorrow will be better
Can I call you then
She said you're ramblin' man
[ From: http://www.elyrics.net/read/z/zac-brown-band-lyrics/colder-weather-lyrics.html ]
And you ain't ever gonna change
You got a gypsy soul to blame
And you were born for leavin' (born for leavin')

Well it's a windin road
When you're in the lost and found
You're a lover I'm a runner
And we go 'round 'n 'round
And I love you but I'll leave you
I don't want you but I need you
You know it's you who calls me back here, Baby

Oh I wanna see you again
But I'm stuck in colder weather
Maybe tomorrow will be better
Can I call you then
Cause I'm a ramblin' man
I ain't ever gonna change
I gotta gypsy soul to blame
And I was born for leavin' (born for leavin')

When I close my eyes I see you
No matter where I am
I can smell your perfume through these whispering pines
I'm with your ghost again
It's a shame about the weather
But I know soon we'll be together
And I can't wait till then
I can't wait till then

Day 4: A Song That Makes Me Sad

Well, there are a lot of these, but for today, I think I'll go with "I'll Wait For You" by Joe Nichols. I love him. He has an incredible voice. Incredible. This song is pretty sad though. I find it really sad that this girl waits for her so called "sweetheart" all the time and it seems fairly regular that he's late doesn't seem worth waiting for to me. But, love, you can't explain it, I guess. So, anyways. This song always makes me sad for 2 reasons.
1. Because she loves him so much and he just doesn't seem worth it. He's always late when he should have been early.
2. Because it's impossible to wait for someone at Heaven's gates. When you get to heaven, you won't want to wait for someone from earth, no matter how much you love them. You'll want to go see God! So, yeah, I find that sad.

Here are the lyrics and a link to the song: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yu6HyN-OoDQ

The snow in Montana was three feet high
The lady at the counter said: There ain't no flights
And so he called her on the telephone
He said: I'll rent a car and I'll drive home

And she said: I'll wait for you
Like I did last year
At Christmas time with your family here
And your truck broke down out in San Antone
And the gifts stayed wrapped until you got home
Oh, this ain't nothin' new
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you

Now he's on his cell phone in a Coupe Deville
Talkin' to the one he loves and always will
His heart is breakin' 'cause she's there alone
Her heart is achin' 'cause she wants him home
She says: I'll wait for you like in '68
When our child was due, but I said, he'll have to wait
Until his dad gets here and stands by my side
Remember, Dear, our son's first cry
Oh, this ain't nothin' new
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you

He didn't stop all day to eat a bite
And he finally got there around midnight
The doctor said, she's in a better place
She said to give this you this note just in case

And it said, I'll wait for you at Heaven's gate
Oh, I don't care how long it takes
And I'll tell Saint Pete I can't come in
Without my love and my best friend
Oh, this ain't nothin' new
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you
P.S. I love you, too
Sweetheart, I'll wait for you

Day 3: A Song That Makes Me Happy

Bram, you mentioned this on my last post, but a song that makes me happy is "Are You Gonna Kiss Me or Not?" by Thompson Square. I encourage you to not only listen to this song, but to watch the music video. It's really cute. :)

We were sittin' up there on your momma's roof
Talkin' bout everything under the moon
With the smell of honeysuckle and your perfume
All I could think about was my next move
Oh, but you were so shy and so was I
Maybe that's why it was so hard to believe
When you smiled and said to me

Are you gonna kiss me or not
Are we gonna do this or what
I think you know I like you a lot
But you're bout to miss your shot
Are you gonna kiss me or not

It was the best dang kiss that I'd ever had
Except for that long one after that
And I knew if I wanted this thing to last
Sooner or later I'd have to ask
For your hand
So I took a chance
Bought a wedding band
And I got down on one knee
And you smiled and said to me

Are you gonna kiss me or not
Are we gonna do this or what
I think you know I love you a lot
I think we've got a real good shot
Are you gonna kiss me or not

So, we planned it all out for the middle of June
From the wedding cake to the honeymoon
And your momma cried when you walked down the aisle
When the preacher man said say I Do
I did, and you did, too
Then I lifted that veil and saw your pretty smile
And I said

Are you gonna kiss me or not
Are we gonna do this or what
Look at all the love that we've got
And it ain't never gonna stop
Are you gonna kiss me or not

Yeah baby I love you a lot
I really think we've got a shot
Are you gonna kiss me or not

So, what do you guys think of this song? I simply think it's sweet. I don't really have much to say about it except, "AWWWWWWWWWWWW!!!!" So, yeah. Haha. That's what I think about it. I also think that the music and singing is really good. Definitely a song that makes me happy.
Go watch the video!! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FDUOcHg5ijg

Day 2: My Least Favorite Song

Ok, my least favorite country band is Sugerland. And their most annoying song is....... **drumroll please** "Stuck Like Glue" You should be able to tell from the title that this song is lame. And annoying and stupid and nonsensical. And it's waaayyy too easy to get stuck in your head for long periods of time. BUT. I'm still going to ask you to listen to it. Lemme know if any of you actually LIKE this song. That would be weird. But still. :)
Here's a link, go and listen! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5iDPw_qjhtM
And here are the lyrics. Even without the music this song is annoying. AUGH. Hate. This. Song.

Mmmm better...mmm better...
Absolutely no one that knows me better
No one that can make me feel sooo goooood
How did we stay so long together?
When everybody, everybody said we never would
And just when I, I start to think they're right
That love has died...

[Chorus]
There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time?
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

I'm stuck on you
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue

Some days I don't feel like trying
Some days you know I wanna just give up
When it doesn't matter who's right, fight about it all night
Had enough
You give me that look
"I'm sorry baby let's make up"
You do that thing that makes me laugh
And just like that...

[Chorus]
There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

I'm stuck on you
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby were stuck like glue

Whutooo Whutoo

You almost stay out, too stuck together from the ATL
Whutooo Whutoo

Feeling kinda sick?
Just a spoon full of sugar make it better real quick

I say
Whutooo Whutoo
Whatcha gonna do with that?
Whutooo Whutoo
Come on over here with that
Sugar sticky sweet stuff
Come on give me that stuff
Everybody wants some
Melodies that get stuck

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo

Up in your head
Whutooo whutooo
Whuthoo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me together, say, it's all I wanna do
I said

[Chorus]
There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo

There you go making my heart beat again,
Heart beat again,
Heart beat again
There you go making me feel like a kid
Won't you do it and do it one time
There you go pulling me right back in,
Right back in,
Right back in
And I know-oo I'm never letting this go-ooo
I'm stuck on you

Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby were stuck like glue
Whutooo whutooo
Stuck like glue
You and me baby we're stuck like glue

30 Day Song Challenge - Day 1

Hey peeps! So, I've been seeing people do the 30 Day Song Challenge on facebook, and got to thinking, I am going to do a 30 Day Song Challenge on here! But, all the songs will be country, obviously. So, here goes!

Day 1: Your favorite song.

"Bless The Broken Road" by Rascal Flatts. LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. :)

I set out on a narrow way many years ago
Hoping I would find true love along the broken road
But I got lost a time or two
Wiped my brow and kept pushing through
I couldn't see how every sign pointed straight to you

[Chorus:]
Every long lost dream led me to where you are
Others who broke my heart they were like Northern stars
Pointing me on my way into your loving arms
This much I know is true
That God bless the broken road
That led me straight to you

I think about the years I spent just passing through
I'd like to have the time I lost and give it back to you
But you just smile and take my hand
You've been there you understand
It's all part of a grander plan that is coming true

[Chorus]

Now I'm just rolling home
Into my lover's arms
This much I know is true
That God bless the broken road
That led me straight to you

That God bless the broken road
That led me straight to you.

Go listen to this song! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lZp6pmgbZyU

Scotty

Who's been watching American Idol this season? I have! And I'm loving it! It's so much nicer without Simon, Paula, and Cara. The judges seem to really care about the contestants, give fairly good advice and constructive criticism, and it's just all around a better season this year! Plus, who doesn't think Steven Tyler's hilarious? He makes me laugh out loud over and over when I watch the show. Sure, it's probably the after-effect of the 80's and too many drugs, but still, he cracks me up.
ANYWAY. There's a contestant this year who is an AMAZING country singer. Scotty McCreery. Here's the thing about Scotty. He was born to sing country music. I guarentee you he'll get a contract even if he gets eliminated this week. He's just that good. He's a little bit old school with his country singing style, which is what I like! Not the pop mixed with country that you hear half the time. And he's adorable. He's just so cute. He's got such a little boy face and a deep deep voice and yeah. I just think he's the cutest.
Go listen to a couple of his songs. Here's some links:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PjiNxc95pXc - this is his audition video. And believe me when I tell you he sounds EXACTLY like Josh Turner who originally recorded "Your Man"
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rjSdpmozPO4 - this was for the Elton John theme, and I really enjoyed it. :) Haha, the shout-out to grandma makes me laugh.
Also, here's the thing about Scotty. He's only 17! I mean, he looks 17, but he soooo does not sing like he's 17. It's amazing. He's in high school, was on the baseball team, and now he's in the top 9 on American Idol?? Seriously, how often does that happen? It's pretty awesome.

If I Die Young...

I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

Lord make me a rainbow, I'll shine down on my mother
She'll know I'm safe with you when she stands under my colors
Oh, and life ain't always what you think it ought to be, no
Ain't even gray, but she buries her baby

The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time

And I'll be wearing white when I come into your kingdom
I'm as green as the ring on my little cold finger
I've never known the loving of a man
But it sure felt nice when he was holding my hand

There's a boy here in town, says he'll love me forever
Who would have thought forever could be severed by
The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time

So put on your best, boys, and I'll wear my pearls
What I never did is done

A penny for my thoughts, oh no, I'll sell 'em for a dollar
They're worth so much more after I'm a goner
And maybe then you'll hear the words I been singing
Funny, when you're dead how people start listening

If I die young, bury me in satin
Lay me down on a bed of roses
Sink me in the river at dawn
Send me away with the words of a love song

The ballad of a dove
Go with peace and love
Gather up your tears, keep 'em in your pocket
Save them for a time when you're really gonna need them, oh

The sharp knife of a short life
Well, I've had just enough time
So put on your best, boys
And I'll wear my pearls

I love this song. It is by The Band Perry who are a group of siblings who sing country music. I am really picky about listening to female vocalists, because they have the tendency to whine, but I love this girls voice. This song is so sweet.
I especially like the line, "A penny for my thoughts, oh no! I'll sell 'em for a dollar. They're worth so much more after I'm a gonner. Maybe then you'll hear the words I been singin' funny when you're dead how people start listenin'." Isn't that the truth?
Stay tuned for my next post when I'll give you info on the members of The Band Perry!

My Favorite Country Song

My all time favorite country song ever, "Love Like Crazy" by Lee Brice. I love this song. It's just amazing. I love the lyrics, they're so sweet! When I started driving on my own I quit listening to 88.1, the Christian music station, which is not my favorite. Too many commercials for sponsors, too many drives trying to get you to donate money, and too many talk show hosts who certainly don't act like Christians. So, I started listening to the country music station, The Wolf. I heard this song a couple times and really really liked it. And now every time it comes on I get very happy and turn it up and sing along rather loudly. haha. I just LOVE this song. Love it love it love it!
Take a few minutes to read the lyrics, they're just lovely. And then listen to the song. It's really good, and quite catchy. And Lee Brice has a really good voice! I mean, a lot of people out there have good voices, but this guy, he seriously has a good country singin' voice. Gotta love that!

They called him crazy when they started out
Said seventeen's too young to know what loves about
They've been together fifty-eight years now
That’s crazy

He brought home sixty-seven bucks a week
He bought a little two bedroom house on Maple Street
Where she blessed him with six more mouths to feed
Yeah that’s crazy

Just ask him how he did it; he'll say pull up a seat
It'll only take a minute, to tell you everything
Be your best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when he quit his job
Said them home computers, boy they'll never take off
He sold his one man shop to Microsoft
They paid like crazy

Just ask him how he made it
He'll tell you faith and sweat
And the heart of a faithful woman,
Who never let him forget

Be your best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you
Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

Always treat your woman like a lady
Never get too old to call her baby
Never let your prayin' knees get lazy
And love like crazy

They called him crazy when they started out
They've been together fifty-eight years now

Ain't that crazy?

Why do I love this song? Well, there are a few reasons. I love the chorus most of all. It talks about prayer, loving your wife (Well, he uses the word woman, but I shall replace that with wife here, haha), treat her like a lady, call her baby, overuse I love you. I don't think you can overuse the words I love you! I mean, what girl doesn't want to feel cherished? And this chorus just tells the story that he cherishes his wife. And it just tells a good story. One thing about country music, is that the songs always tell a story. And this is just a particularly good story! It starts when they're 17, and goes through their 58th year. It tells about how they conquered hardships when everyone was telling them they couldn't. I just love this song... :)
